A sample CV is an example of a CV that you can use as a guide to model your own CV on. Various samples can be found online for an array of different industries as well as showing you examples of the different types of CV's. It is important to look at samples in order to make sure that you are submitting a CV of a high standard. Just a little research before you plunge into writing your CV, can be the difference between getting an interview and more importantly the job. Common mistakes that can be avoided in looking at sample CV's include poor grammar and punctuation, using coloured or informal fonts, a lack of structure and not highlighting your key skills and attributes appropriately.
Below is an example of a CV that you may use as a guideline. The sample CV for Leah Jane Franks' highlights her sporting abilities so we can assume this is the industry she is targeting. However, it also demonstrates aspects of her personality, as she has included her love for working with children and charitable volunteer work. Employers do want to see personality in a CV, and not just dates and facts so it's important to let the type of person you are shine through naturally and subtly but without waffling. The key is to make your CV relevant.
We can also see from the sample CV below that the separate bits of the CV have been given a title in bold and underlined. This simple structure allows employers to scan the CV and access specific information. For example, if a certain grade is required for the job then the employer can look straight to the Academic Qualifications' section to check this first before then reading the entire CV.
